Audiobooks are a great way to engage students who are resistant to reading. They build students' confidence (students can read the book as it is read to them) and audiobooks increase the 'cool' factor - no more "I don't do books..."
Audiobook versions are currently available for eleven Trailblazers titles.
Audiobooks are audio CDs (compact discs). Each audiobook features a full story, read by an experienced actor.
Each chapter in the book appears as an individual audio track, so that you can play the whole story or just one chapter at a time.
The CDs will play on any standard CD audio player. You can also play them on your computer.
Each CD contains the full text of the reading book, in two versions:
– a simple reading of the book
– a second reading with a 'beep' sound to indicate a page turn (useful for
struggling readers).
The narrations are divided into 14 tracks on the CD, so that (for example) the student can go straight to a specific non-fiction topic, or a specific chapter
of the fiction story.
